In the 2013 General Elections, he was elected as a candidate of PTI from Constituency NA-14 Kohat to the National Assembly.
In the 2018 Pakistani General Elections, Afridi contested for the seat of NA-32 Kohat on a PTI ticket and emerged victorious. Later that year, he was appointed as the Minister of State for Interior, a position he held until 2019.Afridi’s contribution to politics has been significant, and he has been an active member of various committees in the National Assembly.
